Research Interests

Biobank project: The challenge in biomedical field is to create tools that can help physicians and patients efficiently sift through the data, basically by connecting this information to patient outcomes and to answer the following questions: Which is the best treatment and at which dose? Who responded to what treatments? How well did they do? Did their cancer recur? If it did recur, was it effectively treated? How long did they survive? Where they cured? What are the prognostic features that tell us whether somebody needs to be treated, or doesn't need to be treated? And can we personalize the treatment so that individuals have a better chance of getting the right treatment for the right person at the right time? A workflow designed by our group at CEGMR consists successively of establishing a promising technique to recycle and reuse DNA and RNA from IHC stained slides with suitable concentration and integrity as starting biomolecule for further downstream molecular applications.

Areas of expertise

أبحاث في مجال سرطان المبيض investigating the role of pregnancy and progesterone treatment on the health status of the ovary
Molecular Biology of Reproduction Currently, we are working by our group at the Scientific chair of Professor Abdullah Basalamah for studying the gynecological cancers at the hospital of King Abdulaziz university on several strategies toward a better understanding of the disease (ovarian cancer): Prevention trials test ways to reduce the risk of ovarian cancer, screening trials look for ways to detect ovarian cancer at an early stage in healthy women and genetic trial attempt to determine how a woman’s genetic makeup can influence the detection, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment.
